The book aims to introduce darkroom, digital and purely computer-based imaging. It covers analogue and digital methods of print manipulation and output, such as photographic papers, Iris and other ink jet (Epson) output, as well as Pegasus (Kodak), Pictography (Fuji) photo from file methods. Max Ferguson provides an explanation of split grade printing, printing through stockings and toning. Also included are a number of images, with a breakdown of the methods used in their production. A quick-reference product guide is included at the end of the book. It lists substrates, emulsions, software and suppliers, and relevant Web sites.
