If you order one item marked as "Usually dispatches within 1 to 3 days" and another marked "Available for Pre-order", we will send both to you when the pre-order item becomes available.

Below are explanations of the terms used on product detail pages:
- Usually dispatches within 1 to 3 working days:
This item is in stock and will take this amount of time to pack and prepare for dispatch. Estimated delivery date for domestic delivery is subject to Australian Post.
- Other Specific Length of Time (e.g. 2 to 3 weeks):
If an order is placed, you will be given an approximate length of time within 1-3 days via email. Please reply to this email to confirm the order with the supplier.
- Available for Pre-order:
This item has not yet been released, but can be ordered in advance. The order will be sent once the release date makes the book available. The latest release-date information will be displayed on the product detail page. Please note that pre-ordered items imported from overseas may take longer to dispatch than locally-supplied books.
- Temporarily Out of Stock:
This item is currently not in stock but it is available for ordering. If you place an order, we will send you an e-mail with the expected delivery date as soon as we have that information from our suppliers. Note: Your order may be cancelled depending on stock availability of the supplier.
- Currently Unavailable:
This item is currently not in stock and cannot be ordered. No information is available as to if or when this item will be in stock again.
Should the availability of a given item change after it is ordered, the customer will be notified by email. Credit cards will not be charged until the order has entered the dispatch process.

Ordering Items with Different Availabilities
Where one item is marked as ‘Usually dispatches within 1 to 3 days’ and another is marked ‘Available for Pre-order’ or ‘Usually dispatches within 10-14 days’, both items will be sent for A$7.00 when the pre-ordered item becomes available.
If two deliveries are required, the first will be charged at A$7.00 and second will be charged at A$3.00.
Items may be gift-wrapped and sent with a message to the recipient.
To send a gift, please add the item to your Shopping Cart then click ‘Check Out’. Find the gift item and tick ‘Wrapping’ and ‘Attach Message Card’. Then, indicate ‘Gift’ in the Memo column under shipping information in order for us not to send tax invoice to recipient.
Please Note: Gifts cannot be delivered to more than one address in a single transaction.
Our Exchange and Refund Policy
Items cannot be refunded, except where they are faulty, do not do what they are supposed to do, or differ significantly from that which has been shown or described to the customer.
Please choose carefully as we do not give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision.
We will gladly exchange or issue a credit voucher within 30 days of purchase. All goods must be in original condition including shrink wrap.
Where goods are faulty; have been wrongly described; are different from a sample shown to you or do not do what they are supposed to, you can choose between a refund, exchange or credit voucher.
Please note:
* Antiquarian books are second-hand; as such they can not be refunded if they are faulty. Please check carefully when purchasing.
* Due to copyright laws, audio visual products cannot be exchanged unless faulty.Please always retain your receipt for proof of purchase.

1. Browse or search BookWeb Australia
A Keyword Search is available on each page of BookWeb Australia. An advanced search is also available. Click on the relevant title to display details and availability.
2. Add the items to Shopping Cart
Simply click “Add to Shopping Cart” on the search result list or the item's product detail page. You may then continue searching, and can access the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time.
3. Finalising your order
Click “Check Out” in the Shopping Cart to see the list of items placed in the cart and to discard unwanted items. Click “Check Out” again to place the order.
4. Login
If you have not already logged in to your account you will be asked to do so now. New visitors to BookWeb Australia can create an account here.
5. Gift wrapping (optional)
Select the item you would like gift wrapped, and choose a gift wrap from the new pop-up window. To send a card, select “Attach Message Card” and type your message in the pop-up window.
6. Choose Shipping address
Select “Same as home address” to have your ordered delivered to your Account address. Select “Other Delivery address” to have your ordered delivered to an address other than your Account address.
7. Modify Your Credit Card Information (optional)
To use a credit card other than the one nominated in your Account, or to update the expiry date of your card, follow the “Modify Payment Information” link.
8. Review and Place Your Order
To review your order, click “Next” and ensure that the information is accurate. Click “Place My Order” to submit the order and to receive your order number. It is not possible to cancel the order once it has been submitted. Should the order be placed unsuccessfully, the following message will be displayed: “Your order process has failed due to invalid credit card”. Should this occur, please contact the bank that issued your card for assistance.
An automated email will be sent to you when the order has been made successfully. Please note that if you do not receive this email, please check the following:
- Check that the email you have provided us is correct.
- Check if the email has been sent to your junk mail.

9. Check Your Order
If you would like to check your order status, click the “Order History” link, which is on the left side of most pages on BookWeb Australia.
Items not yet released can be pre-ordered. Credit cards will not be charged until the order is dispatched.
If an order includes both currently-available and not-yet-available items, it may be held until all the items are available. See ‘Ordering Items with Different Availabilities’ under ‘Dispatch & Delivery’, for further details.
Ordering French, German and Chinese Books
Some French and German books are available from BookWeb Australia, but will be found under ‘English Books’.
Books in Traditional Chinese are also available, but books in Simplified Chinese books are currently unavailable.
Payment can be made via credit card. We currently accept VISA, MasterCard and JCB. Credit cards are charged once the books are ready for dispatch. Should your credit card be declined, please contact your bank for information.
Items reserved in your Shopping Cart retain the price of the time of reservation, irrespective of any price-changes that may be reflected on the product detail page. Some discounts are limited-time offers, and may depend upon an item’s availability.
Price for Pre-ordered and Out-of-Stock Items
The BookWeb price for future releases date and temporarily-out-of-stock items, may change between the time of order and the date the item is dispatched. Customers will be informed via e-mail if a price changes before dispatch.
All prices shown include Goods & Services Tax (GST). GST will not be charged on books to be sent to an overseas address.
10% Discount Privilege for Kinokuniya Card Members
Kinokuniya Card Members are entitled to our 10% discount privilege. To make use of the discount, customers need only provide a valid card number and expiry date when creating a BookWeb account.

- Renewal membership - $10 (applies to continuous renewal only)
- Replacement for lost/stolen/damaged card - $5
Currently application can only be made in-store at the cashier counter.
To add Kinokuniya Card membership details after creating a BookWeb account, follow the ‘Modify Personal Information’ link under ‘Account Information’, which is on the left side of most pages on BookWeb Australia. Enter the card number and expiry date to enjoy the 10% discount privilege.

Bulk order discounts are not available. To purchase items for a corporation or institution, click here to contact our sales office and open a corporate account.
Gift voucher payments can only be used in store and cannot be redeemed for BookWeb purchases. If you would like to pay using gift vouchers, but cannot visit our Sydney store, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with details of the book(s) that you would like to purchase. Our staff can then advise you on how to proceed.To change your user name, home address (billing address) and Kinokuniya Card Member details, click on the ‘Modify Personal Information’ link under ‘Account Information’, which is on the left side of most pages of BookWeb Australia.
To change your credit card information, click on the ‘Payment Information’ link under ‘Account Information’ which is on the left side of most pages of BookWeb Australia.
The cancellation request form can be found by following the ‘Cancel Bookweb account’ link under ‘Account Information,’ which is on the left side of most pages of BookWeb Australia.
An account cannot be closed while there is still an order in process. Once closed, an account is no longer accessible, and a new account must be created in order to shop again on BookWeb.
The logout button is in the upper right corner of most pages on BookWeb Australia.
A browsing session times out if there is no activity for 30 minutes, in which case the customer will be automatically logged out.
We are unable to disclose existing or previous passwords. Please click on the “Forgot Password?” link to acquire a new password via a personalised link to your email address.
Click on the “Forgot Email?” link on the login screen to send us as much of your account information as much as possible. You will be notified by email once you are verified as the owner of the account.
Gift wrapping is available at no charge and we can provide you with a gift card printed with your personal message.
If you want to send an item you ordered to someone as a gift, please add the item to your Shopping Cart then click the “Check Out” button. Find the gift item and tick the “Wrapping” and “Attach Message Card”. Then, indicate “Gift” in Memo column under shipping information in order for us not to send tax receipt to recipient.
A Wish List is a private and personalised list of all the items you would like to obtain from BookWeb in the future, which saves you searching repeatedly for specific titles. You must be logged in to BookWeb to add an item to your Wish List.
Kinokuniya Card Members may write and share book reviews. To write and post a review, please log in to BookWeb and go to the relevant product detail pages. Our members are encouraged to share their opinions and may write one review per book.
Books Kinokuniya reserves the right to remove reviews which include inappropriate, promotional or objectionable content. If you find such a review, please call our attention to it by following the ‘Report This’ link.
Note: Reviews cannot be removed or amended once they are posted. To have a review removed, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and provide your email address and user name to confirm your identity as the reviewer.
Kinokuniya Card members can track the upcoming releases of their favourite authors or series by creating a “New Release List” of your favourite author’s books or your favourite series of books which will be published in the next three months. Please click the “Preference” link located on the left side of most pages on BookWeb Australia and click the “Change settings” link.
Then, indicate author or series and select language.
Check the bestsellers in your favourite categories at a glance! Click on the ‘Preference’ link, followed by click ‘Change settings’ link. Select the relevant categories under ‘Personal Ranking.’
“Bestsellers” are based on Kinokuniya Australia sales and are updated weekly.
